Specific Requirements for Certain Events

Novice longsword

  • This event is specifically designed to introduce people who have never competed in a tournament before to the tournament scene in a setting where they may compete against practitioners of a similar level.

  • This event is provisionally open to 24 participants.

  • Participants must have never competed in a tournament against other clubs before.

  • Participants are not allowed to compete in other events.

  • Participant must still meet all gear and weapon requirements.  

Women and Under Represented Genders  

  • This event is provisionally open to 24 participants.

  • This event is open to participants who self-identify as Cis women, trans women, Trans men or non-binary.

  • Participant must still meet all gear and weapon requirements.

 Over 45 Open Steel Longsword

  • Event is provisionally capped at 16 participants.

  • Participants must be at least 45 years old. If participant turns 45 the year of the event they will qualify.

  • Participant must still meet all gear and weapon requirements.

 Mixed Steel Events

  • Mixed Steel with Rapier, Rapiers are allowed with or without off hand accompaniment in accordance with the weapon rules.

  • Mixed Steel without Rapier. Rapiers are not allowed. Weapons may still have off hand accompaniment in accordance with the weapon rules.

  • Rapier is defined as a single-handed sword with a blade over 36 inches in length from tip to quillons.

  • The winner of each division will go on to a “grand champion” bout with each competitor fencing with their weapon of choice allowed by the division they won.

  • Participant must still meet all gear and weapon requirements.
